City Heart Beer Bar & Restaurant

City Heart Beer Bar & Restaurant is located inside the City Heart Hotel right on the Main Road in Dharamsala. Being in Kotwali Bazar means there is always something happening outside. The road is narrow and cars are always honking, but inside it’s a bit different. We start our day getting the tables ready and checking the stock. Dharamshala gets quite cold in the winter months, so we spend a lot of time making sure the place feels alright for whoever walks in from the chill. We get a mix of people here, some locals from around the bazar and tourists who are just passing through to see the mountains. It is a straightforward kind of place. We don’t have fancy decorations or anything like that. The furniture has been around for a bit and it shows some wear, but it’s sturdy. Working on the Main Road means we see a lot of the same faces every day. We just try to serve the drinks and food without making people wait too long. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, which is common up here, but we just carry on with candles or whatever we have. It’s a job like any other, and we like being in the center of the town where we can see everything going on. We close up late and then get ready to do it all over again tomorrow.
