Vaels High International School

Our place is located over on Valmiki Street in Injambakkam. It’s tucked away in the Pon Vidyashram Gardens area. Chennai can be noisy, but it’s a bit quieter down this way. We have a regular routine that starts pretty early every morning. The school gates are right there on the main path. Most days, you’ll see the yellow buses coming and going through the narrow streets around here. We’ve got the standard classrooms and some outdoor space where the kids spend their lunch hour. It’s not a complicated setup at all. We just focus on getting through the lessons and making sure everyone is where they should be at the right time. The sun hits the playground pretty hard in the afternoon, so everyone stays inside then. We’ve got a mix of ages here, from the little ones to the older students. Some families have been sending their kids to us for many years. You get to know the parents and even the grandparents too. It’s a real community thing. Sometimes the fans in the rooms need fixing or we have to repaint a wall, but that's just part of keeping a building going in this humid climate. We don't spend much time on fancy talk or long speeches. We just show up, open the classrooms, and get to work. The kids seem happy enough running around during the breaks. We are just another part of the Injambakkam neighborhood, really. Nothing more, nothing less.
