Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Millennium School

If you know St Thomas Mount in Chennai, you know how busy GST Road gets. Our school is at No 9, right in the middle of all that activity. It is quite a large place, and things start moving very early in the morning before the traffic really picks up. We have been here for a good while, and the building has seen a lot of students pass through its doors. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the corridors and different floors. We try to keep things organized, but with so many kids, there is always a bit of chaos. The heat in Chennai is no joke, so the fans are always going. We don’t really do fancy talk here. We just focus on the lessons and making sure the kids are where they are supposed to be. You can hear the metro passing nearby sometimes. The teachers spend their breaks in the staff room, usually talking about the day’s work or sharing snacks. It is a very normal school day, from the first bell to the last. We see a lot of parents at the gate in the afternoons, waiting in the sun. It’s a bit cramped on the main road, but we make it work. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know the routine like the back of our hands. It’s just a part of the neighborhood.
