Vidhai Public School & Kidzee

You can find us at No.49 on Mettu Street in Kanchipuram. It’s a lively area, and the school is right in the thick of it. Vidhai Public School & Kidzee is basically two things in one, so we have the very little ones and the older students all in the same space. This makes for a lot of different energy levels. The morning starts with the tiny kids being walked in by their parents, sometimes crying a bit if they’re new, and the older ones rushing in with their heavy backpacks. The building has some age to it, which gives it a bit of character. We’ve got posters on the walls about the alphabet and maps that have been there for years. The staff room is small and usually crowded with teachers having a quick snack between classes. We don’t go for anything fancy or high-tech if we don’t have to. It’s more about the basics here—chalk, notebooks, and a lot of talking. The street outside is always busy with people going to the temples or the shops, so there’s a constant hum of city life that we can hear from the classrooms. We make sure the kids stay safe inside the gates and that they get their work done. It’s a practical, local school that serves the families around Mettu Street without needing to be anything more than that.
