Simbhas Den

We set up Simbhas Den right here in Sasan Gir. It's close to the Hirneshwar Temple and that check dam everyone knows. Living in Junagadh is quiet mostly. We just wanted a place for people to stop by. Sometimes the lions are close, you hear them at night. We've got rooms and food. It’s not fancy. The walls could use a scrub sometimes but we keep it tidy enough. Mostly, it’s just us family members running the place. We wake up early to get things ready for the guests coming for the safaris. The road by the temple gets busy on holidays. We usually sit outside in the evenings when the heat drops. It’s dusty out here in 362135. We grow some of our own vegetables in the back. My uncle handles the kitchen mostly. He doesn’t talk much but he’s fast. People ask for directions to the dam a lot. It’s just a short walk down the path. We built the rooms one by one over the years. It took a long time. Water comes from the well mostly. We try to keep the lights on during the power cuts. It’s a simple life out here near the forest. If you come by, you’ll probably see me or my brother at the front desk. We don't have big signs or anything. Just the name and the gate. It's home to us, really. We've lived in this part of Gir for a long time now. We hope the guests feel comfortable enough while they are here exploring the forest.
