Ajmeri

Our place is situated right on the Bhavnagar Highway in UNA, which is part of the Junagadh district. Being on the main highway means we see a lot of people who are just passing through on their way to places like Diu or Somnath. It’s a dusty stretch of road, and the sun can be really strong out here. We have a simple setup where people can stop their cars or bikes and get something to eat or drink. It’s not a fancy restaurant with air conditioning; it’s more of a traditional roadside spot with open air and basic seating. We get the local farmers coming in early for tea, and then the highway travelers start arriving later in the morning. The traffic noise is something you just get used to after a while. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who do everything from the cooking to the cleaning. The building is nothing special to look at, but it’s sturdy and keeps the sun off your head. We've been here for years, watching the trucks go by day and night. Sometimes at night, it gets a bit quieter, but the highway never really sleeps. We just keep the lights on and the stove ready for whoever pulls in. It’s an honest way to make a living, serving the people who are on long journeys across Gujarat, and we just keep doing it every single day.
