Jai Ambe Restaurant

Our restaurant is located way up on Girnar Parvat, right across from the Ambaji Temple in the Gir Devli area of Junagadh. It is a unique spot because most of our customers have just finished climbing the thousands of steps to reach the temple. Because of our location, it is quite a task to bring all our supplies and ingredients up the mountain, so we keep our menu very simple and limited to things we can manage. We serve basic meals and tea to pilgrims and hikers who need to sit down and regain their energy after the long walk. We also get many people who are visiting from places like Bhavnagar. The space is small and can get very crowded, especially during the big festivals when the mountain is full of people. We don't have any modern machines or fancy kitchen equipment. We do everything by hand and cook in the traditional way. The weather can be a bit unpredictable up here, so we offer a dry place to sit when it rains. We don't do any advertising or have a social media page. People find us because they are visiting the temple and they see our sign. We've been here for a long time and we understand what people need after a long climb. It is a humble place run by people who are used to the mountain life and we stay here to work.
