Raj Dining Hall

We’ve been running Raj Dining Hall here at Kalwa Chowk in Junagadh for quite some time now. You can find us right opposite Modern, which is a busy area almost every day of the week. The place isn't anything special to look at, just a regular hall with tables and chairs where people come to eat their lunch or dinner. We spend most of our mornings in the back chopping up vegetables and getting the stove going. It gets hot in the kitchen, especially during the summer months, but that is just part of the job. Most of our customers are locals who work in the shops nearby or travelers passing through who need a quick meal. We don’t go in for fancy decorations or anything like that because people are mostly here to eat and get back to their work. Sometimes the floors get a bit dusty with everyone coming in and out from the street, but we try to sweep up whenever there’s a quiet moment. It’s just us doing the daily work, making sure the food is ready on time and that there’s enough for everyone who shows up. We don’t have a huge menu, just the usual things people expect to find around here. It’s a simple setup. If you are around the chowk and looking for a place to sit for thirty minutes, this is where we are. We just keep things moving and try to stay busy every single day.
