Royal Softy N Softy

We started this softy shop in Mahamandir because there was not much here for kids to eat after school. Being so close to Geetanjali School, we see the students all the time in the afternoons. The machine hums all day long and sometimes it gets a bit noisy in the small space. Sometimes we run out of chocolate flavor and the kids get a little annoyed with us, but that is just how it goes on busy days. Jodhpur gets incredibly hot in the summers, so our shop at number 11 is usually crowded with people looking for something cold. We do not have fancy chairs or any proper seating, so people just stand out on the pavement and eat their cones. It gets quite messy when the ice cream starts melting fast in the heat. We try our best to keep the floor clean but with so many children around, it is a constant job for us. My brother helps me behind the counter in the evenings when the crowd really picks up. We do not sell anything else here, just these simple soft serves. Some people ask for extra toppings and we have a few jars of sprinkles and sauce. It is a simple life running a small shop like this. You get to meet the neighbors and talk about the weather while the cones are filling up. We have been at this address for a long time now. Most people in this lane know us by name. It is not a big business, just a local spot.
