Chokelao Mahal Terrace Restaurant

Our restaurant is located right inside the Meherangarh Fort in Jodhpur. You have to come up into the fort area to find us at the Chokelao Mahal section. Being on the terrace means we are out in the open air. It's a very old part of the city, and the stone walls have been there for centuries. We just set up the tables and chairs so people can have a place to sit while they are visiting the fort. It gets quite hot during the day, so most people prefer coming by later in the afternoon when the sun isn't so strong. We don't have a huge kitchen, but we manage to serve what's on the menu. The stairs up to the terrace can be a bit steep for some, but that is just how the old buildings are designed. The view of the city below is just something that happens to be there because of where the fort was built. We focus on keeping the area tidy and making sure the food is ready on time. The staff spends a lot of time walking back and forth across the stone floors. It's a unique spot to work, but at the end of the day, it's still just a restaurant where we serve meals. We get people from all over the world walking through here every single day. We just try to serve a decent meal in a place that’s been around for ages.
