Anand Bhawan Marriage Garden

We are located in the Chopasni Housing Board area, right across from the Filter House. Running a marriage garden in Jodhpur means you spend a lot of time worrying about the weather and the grass. We spend most of our mornings making sure the plants are watered and the open space is clear of any trash that might have blown in overnight. It’s a big area, so there is always something to fix, whether it's a loose tile on the walkway or a light that stopped working. Being in 342008, we see a lot of families coming in to plan their functions. We don't have a big office with air conditioning to meet people in; we usually just sit under one of the trees or near the main gate. It's a practical space. People like that they can bring their own decorators and set things up how they want. We just provide the space and make sure the gates are open on time. Sometimes the wind picks up and we have to scurry around to make sure everything stays in place. It isn't a glamorous job, especially when you're cleaning up after a big event late at night. But we’ve lived here a long time and we like seeing the neighborhood celebrate. It’s just us running the place, keeping the hedges trimmed and the ground leveled as best as we can for the next group.
