Ashok Vatika Restaurant

Our restaurant, Ashok Vatika, is located at Shop no-15 on Central School Road in the Ratanada area of Jodhpur. We are quite close to the Airforce station, so we see a lot of uniformed men and their families coming in. It’s a simple place with a few fans on the ceiling and some basic tables. We’ve been here for several years now. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it’s a bit quieter than the main city market. We serve a mix of dishes, mostly what people like to eat for lunch or dinner. The kitchen is run by a couple of men who have been with us since we opened. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just a painted board. I usually sit near the door and keep an eye on things. The floor is made of stone and it stays cool even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes we run out of certain vegetables because the market was short that day, but we just tell the customers and they understand. We don't have any fancy lighting or music. It’s just a place to sit down and have a meal. We don't do much on the internet or with computers. People in Ratanada know where we are. We just try to make sure the food is fresh every day. It’s a small business and we’re happy with how it goes. The chairs are old but they are comfortable enough for a meal.
