Raj Shaahi Restaurant

Our restaurant is over in the Shikargarh area of Jodhpur, specifically in the Viru City Gym Market. We are quite close to the main bus stand and the Military Power House in Ratanada. Being near a bus stand means we see a lot of tired people looking for a meal before or after a long journey. The market is usually full of life, and we are just one of the many small businesses trying to make it work. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, especially during the peak hours when the gym nearby lets out and everyone is hungry. It’s not a quiet place, but Jodhpur rarely is. We’ve got a routine down where we start early with the prep work and don't really stop until late at night. The desert heat can be something else, so we try to keep the place as cool as possible for anyone who walks in. We don't put on any acts here. We just serve the food we’ve been making for years. Sometimes the power goes out or things get a bit chaotic when a large group arrives all at once, but we just handle it and move to the next order. We are just regular people running a kitchen and making sure the plates are full. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy and we are happy to be here in Ratanada.
