Parihar Bhojnalya

Parihar Bhojnalya is a small eatery located in Sardarpura, Jodhpur. We’re quite close to Goyal Hospital, so we get a lot of people who are visiting patients or working at the hospital. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, compared to the main roads. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Just a simple door and a few tables inside. We focus on making simple, home-style food. We don't use a lot of oil or heavy cream because we want people to feel good after eating. The kitchen is small, and there’s only two of us cooking most of the time. We get our flour and lentils from the same shop we've used for ten years. The plates are stainless steel, and we wash them by hand in the back. Sometimes the water pressure is low, which makes things a bit slower. We don't have a website or anything like that. People usually find us just by walking past or because someone told them about us. It’s a modest way to make a living. We keep a bucket of drinking water with a ladle for anyone who's thirsty. Our days are long, starting with the prep work and ending late after the last customer leaves. We’re just a regular part of the Sardarpura neighborhood, doing what we know how to do. We don't have any fancy tricks. We just cook the same way our families have always cooked at home. Usually, the vegetable of the day is written on a small chalkboard near the front entrance.
