Old House Cafe

You can find Old House Cafe over at Plot No. 1 in Narsingh Colony. We are right opposite the High Court Colony, not too far from the P.W.D. Circle here in Jodhpur. The name pretty much says it all. We took an old building and turned it into a place where people can grab a coffee or a bite to eat. It’s got that 342001 charm, I guess you could say. The walls have been painted many times over the years. We kept a lot of the original features because we liked the way they looked. It’s not a shiny, modern place with glass walls. It’s more about the stone and the shade. Jodhpur gets incredibly hot in the summer, so we try to keep the inside as cool as possible for anyone coming in off the street. We see a lot of lawyers and people from the court because they’re just across the way. They usually want their food fast so they can get back to work. Then in the evenings, it’s a bit more relaxed with younger people hanging out. The kitchen is small but we manage to get things out on time. Sometimes the traffic near the circle gets a bit noisy, but once you’re inside, it’s okay. We just focus on serving decent food and keeping the place running. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we’re here most days from morning until late.
