Melody Restaurant

Our restaurant is situated on Pal Road in Jodhpur, right across from the government school. Because of the school, the street is always full of kids and parents in the morning and afternoon. It’s a dusty road, like most parts of the city, and we spend a fair amount of time just keeping the front of the shop clean. We have a simple setup here with basic tables and chairs. It’s the kind of place where locals stop in for a quick bite or some tea. We don’t have any big signs or fancy lighting. My brother and I run the place most days, and we have a couple of helpers for the kitchen. The menu is mostly things we know how to make well and that people around here like to eat. Sometimes the power goes out during the day, which is just part of living in Jodhpur, so we have to manage without the fans for a bit. We’ve seen the kids from across the road grow up over the years we’ve been here. It’s a quiet life in some ways, even with the traffic on Pal Road. We just open up early, get the tea started, and stay until the last customers leave in the evening. It’s a lot of hours on our feet, but we’re used to it by now. It’s just a normal neighborhood restaurant for the people who live and work around here and need a break.
