K P Restaurant

Our restaurant is tucked away inside the Krishan Prakash Heritage Haveli Hotel in the older part of Jodhpur. Being in Khilikhana and the Naya Bas area means the streets are quite narrow and full of life. It is near Makrana Mohallah, which is a place most locals know well. The building itself is an old haveli, so it has those thick stone walls that help a bit with the Jodhpur heat, though it still gets plenty warm in the afternoons. We are not a big corporate chain. We are just a small team running the kitchen and the seating area for people staying at the hotel and those wandering in from the street. The routine is the same every day. We sweep the floors, check the supplies, and start the stove. You can hear the sounds of the city outside, bikes humming and people talking, but inside it is a bit quieter. We do not spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. The furniture is simple and we just use what we have. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit chaotic when several families show up at once, but we manage to get the plates out eventually. It is just honest work in a very old part of town. We like the history of the walls around us, but mostly we just focus on making sure there is enough food for everyone who walks through the door.
