Being over here in the South Settlement Railway Engineering Colony in Tatanagar is quite something. Jamshedpur has its own rhythm, and Jamshedpur - 831002 is definitely shaped by the railway presence nearby. You can hear the trains coming and going from the station pretty much all day and night. It’s part of the background noise we don't even notice anymore. The school grounds have plenty of space, and you’ll see kids running around in their uniforms as soon as the bell rings. It’s a government setup, so things follow a very specific routine. We get a lot of families from the railway quarters since they live right next door. The trees around the colony provide a bit of shade during those really hot Jharkhand afternoons. Sometimes the water supply is a bit finicky or the gates need a fresh coat of paint, but that’s just how it is. It’s a practical place. We don’t spend much time on decorations. Most of the effort goes into keeping the classrooms tidy and making sure the registers are updated. There’s a sense of history in these old railway colonies that you don't find in the newer parts of town. We just go about our business day by day, watching the seasons change from the classroom windows. It’s a steady kind of life here at the school, tucked away in this specific corner of the city.
