Being right opposite Kadma Market makes Baldwin Farm Area High School a very busy spot. In Jamshedpur, everyone knows where the Kadma area is. The morning starts with the sounds of the market waking up while our students are arriving. It is a very lively atmosphere. The school building has been part of this landscape for a long time. You can see the old steel city charm in the surroundings. We don't have a lot of quiet time because of the location, but that's just life in Kadma. The teachers usually gather in the staff room before the first bell rings. We talk about the weather or how the local traffic is behaving. It’s a very grounded place. No one here puts on any acts. We just do the work of running a school. The kids are used to the hustle and bustle of the market street. During lunch breaks, you can hear the chatter from the classrooms all the way out to the gate. In the winter months, the mornings are quite nice and crisp. We have a few trees on the grounds that give some shade when the sun is out. Parents often stop at the market after dropping their children off. It’s a convenient spot for most families living in this part of Jamshedpur. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily routine without making a big deal out of things.
