Mile Stone School

Mile Stone School. We are based in Durga Nagar, which is part of the Govindpur area in Jamshedpur. The school is easy to find if you know the neighborhood. It’s a local place where children from nearby houses come to learn. We don't have a huge gate or a security team, just a simple entrance where the kids line up. The atmosphere is quite relaxed compared to the big city schools. We have a few rooms for the different classes, and the furniture is mostly wooden desks that have seen a lot of use. In Jamshedpur, the weather can get quite hot, so we make sure the fans are always running during the day. We have a small courtyard where the children play during their lunch break. It’s mostly dirt and some patches of grass, but they enjoy it. We don't use any fancy technology, just chalk and boards. The teachers live nearby, so they know the families well. Sometimes we have to deal with the usual problems like a leaky roof or a broken window, and we just get someone from Govindpur to fix it. We aren't trying to be the most famous school in the world. We just want to provide a place where the kids in Durga Nagar can come every day and sit down with their books. It’s a very straightforward operation we have going on here. We've been here for years and hope to stay for many more.
