We are located at No. 100 in Vikas Nagar. It's a bit of a walk from the main road, but it's a decent spot for us to work. The shop isn't very large, but we have enough space for the displays and a couple of plastic chairs for people to sit down. I usually get here around ten in the morning and start by cleaning the glass cases with a cloth. Dust gets in everywhere somehow, no matter how much we clean. We handle a lot of different stones and pieces here. Some are very small and some are a bit bigger. I spend a lot of time looking through my loupe at the small details. My cousin helps me out during the busy hours in the evening when more people stop by. We don't really have a big sign, just enough so people can find the door. The neighborhood is mostly quiet during the day which is nice for concentrating on the work. Sometimes I have to go out to meet suppliers and leave the shop with my assistant for an hour. We have some old wooden cabinets that have been here since we first opened. They still hold up well enough. It's a simple setup really. No fancy uniforms or anything like that for us. Just us working and talking to whoever comes through the door. Sometimes we have tea and discuss the latest news while waiting. It is a steady life.
