Deepak Gems

Deepak Gems is on the first floor of the Green House Complex. It’s right at the Jadiyon Rasta Chauraha, so it’s pretty easy to find if you know that intersection. We spend a lot of time under the lamps here. The space isn’t huge, but it works for what we do. There’s always someone sitting at the benches working on something small and detailed. It gets quiet when everyone is focusing, which is nice compared to the noise from the street downstairs. We’ve got some old chairs for visitors and a desk that’s seen better days, but it’s where we do all the weighing and sorting. The light coming through the windows is good in the afternoon, though it can get a bit bright. Sometimes the stairs up to the first floor feel a bit steep after a long day of work. We don’t have any big signs or fancy displays. It’s more about the drawers full of bits and pieces and the tools we use every day. We’ve been in this complex for a bit now, and we know the other shop owners around the Chauraha pretty well. It’s a busy spot, especially on market days when the foot traffic is heavy. We just keep our heads down and get through the tasks on our list. It’s steady work. We open up, sort through what came in, and talk to people who stop by the counter with questions. Sometimes we have a quick lunch at the desk. It’s a simple way to spend the day.
