Iram Gems Company

Down near Ghat Gate, you will find us at Iram Gems Company. Our actual address is C 4435 Topkhana Huzoori, which is right near Model School. In fact, if you find the school, you are basically there. This part of the city is old and has a lot of history with stones and jewelry, so we fit right in. We spend our days looking at gems, sorting them, and figuring out what’s good and what’s not. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details, which can be hard on the eyes after a few hours. The area around Topkhana Huzoori is always bustling, and there is always something going on outside the door. We don't have a big, shiny store like you might see in a mall. Our place is more traditional, where we sit on the floor or at small desks to do our work. People come to us because they know we’ve been around Ghat Gate for a long time. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just know our stones. Sometimes it’s quiet, and sometimes we have three people talking at once about a specific piece of emerald or quartz. It gets a bit hot in the summer, but we have our fans going and we just keep at it. Being near the Model School means we see the kids heading home every afternoon, which usually marks the end of our workday.
