Gory Gems

You can find us at Haldiyon Ka Rasta in Johari Bazar. Gory Gems is right in the heart of one of the busiest markets you can imagine. If you have ever been to Johari Bazar, you know it is a maze of small lanes and thousands of people. Haldiyon Ka Rasta is our little corner of that world. We spend our days looking at stones, some small and some not so small. It is a lot of sitting and using magnifying glasses to see what we are working with. The shop is small and we have to keep everything very secure because of what we handle. It is not a place with big flashy lights; it is more traditional, the way shops in this area have been for a long time. We get a lot of tourists walking past, but most of our regulars are people who have been coming to this market for years. The noise from the street is constant, with motorbikes and people shouting, but inside we try to keep things a bit calmer. We don't really have a big marketing plan. We just show the stones to whoever is interested and talk about them. It is a family-sort of atmosphere here, even if we aren't all related. We just like the gems and the daily hustle of the bazaar.
