If you ever find yourself walking through the Johari Bazar, you might stumble upon us at 3958 K.G.B Ka Rasta. Dhandia Gems Llp has been tucked away in this part of the city for quite a long time. It’s a narrow street, and it gets really crowded during the festival seasons. You can hear the sounds of the market right outside our door. Inside, it’s a bit quieter because we need to focus on the stones. Gems are tricky things, and you have to spend a lot of time looking at them under the light. We aren't a big, flashy showroom like some of the others nearby. We are more about the actual work of grading and sorting. The shop is small and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when more than three people are in here, but it works for us. We have old wooden desks and a lot of small drawers where everything is kept. Usually, the day goes by with us chatting about the quality of a batch or trying to find a specific cut for someone who asked. We’ve known our neighbors for decades. We share snacks and complain about the traffic together. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It is just honest work with beautiful things in a place that feels like history.
