You can find us at number 61 in Shri Ram Nagar, over in the Jhotwara area. It’s more of a residential-feeling spot compared to the big markets, which we kind of like. We work on various art pieces and decorations here. It is mostly a family-run thing, and we have been doing it for quite a while. The shop is part of the building where we spend most of our time anyway. We have a lot of tools scattered around and there is usually a smell of varnish or glue in the air. Jhotwara has grown a lot, and there is more traffic now, but our little corner stays mostly the same. We don’t have a website or any of that, just people who know us or walk by and see what we are making. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat while we are working on a piece in the afternoon. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We take our time to finish things because rushing usually leads to mistakes. Our hands are usually dirty from the materials we use. We keep the finished work in the front room and do the messy stuff in the back where the light is a bit better. It’s just a simple local art business, trying to make things that look good enough for someone to want them in their home. We usually close early on Sundays to spend time with the kids.
