Laxmi Moorti Bhandar

Our shop, Laxmi Moorti Bhandar, is located right in the heart of the city at Kalyan Ji Ka Rasta. It’s at the first crossing near Indira Bazar, which is a very busy part of town. If you’ve ever walked through these lanes, you know how crowded and lively it gets every single day. We spend our days surrounded by stone and marble. The dust is everywhere, and you can always hear the sound of hammers and chisels hitting stone. We work on various statues and idols. It is something we’ve been doing for a long time in this specific spot. The address is number 2824, and it’s a space filled with unfinished work and blocks of raw material waiting to be shaped. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights. Instead, you’ll see our work lined up along the walls, some finished and some just started. People come by to see what we are working on or to talk about a specific piece they want for their homes. It’s a very manual process, and it takes quite a lot of time and patience. There are days when the heat makes it hard to work, but we keep at it because the work needs to get done. The street outside is always full of traffic and the smells of the market. It’s a traditional way of working that hasn't changed much. We just focus on the stone in front of us and try to do an honest job.
