Riddhi Moorti Painting Arts

Our workshop is at H No.-2517 on Khazane Walon Ka Rasta, near the Unchi Haveli. We are right in the heart of the Moorti Market in Chandpole Bazar. This whole area is famous for statues, and our street is always full of artists and workers. Our specific focus is on the painting side of things. We spend our days with fine brushes and small pots of color, trying to get the eyes and the clothes of the statues just right. It is a lot of sitting and leaning over the work, which makes your back ache after a while. The light in the workshop isn't always the best, so we often move closer to the door to see the colors better. Chandpole Bazar is very old and the walls of our place show it. There is a lot of noise from the main road, but once you get into the lane, it feels a bit different. We have paint stains on almost everything we own, from our shirts to the floor tiles. It is just the way it is. We aren't a big factory; we are just a small group of people who know how to paint. Sometimes we have to wait for the statues to be delivered to us before we can even start our work. It’s a slow process and you can’t really rush it if you want it to look decent for the customers. We stay busy through most of the holidays. When the festivals come we hardly sleep.
