Shri Chamunda Mata Moorti Sagar

Finding us can be a bit tricky if you don't know the area. Shri Chamunda Mata Moorti Sagar is at H.No.1286 in Tikkadmal Ka Rasta. It is right in the heart of Moorti Mohhala, which is a place where many people work on statues. We are quite close to the Bhomiyoo Jee Ka Mandir. You can usually hear the sound of hammers hitting chisels before you even see the house. It’s a narrow street so parking is always a headache. We have been in this house for a long time. The ground floor is where most of the work happens. There are bits of stone and marble everywhere on the floor. It is a family thing, really. My uncle and cousins are usually around helping with the heavy lifting. We don’t use many big machines because we prefer the old ways. It gets very dusty, so we drink a lot of tea to clear our throats. The temple nearby brings in some people who stop to look at what we are carving. We don’t really do any advertising. People just find us by word of mouth or by wandering into the lane. It is a quiet life except for the clinking of the tools. We just keep working until the sun goes down and the lights in the mohalla come on. It is what we know how to do.
