We are situated out on the Bhankrota-Sirsi Road in Pratap Colony. Being near the Bhankrota Bus Stand means there’s always a lot of movement nearby, even if we are a bit removed from the main city center. Working with marble is a heavy, messy job. Our yard and shop are always covered in a fine layer of white dust that seems to get on everything, no matter how much we sweep. We have various pieces of stone scattered around, some finished and some just started. It’s not a polished gallery; it’s more of a workshop where you can see the tools lying around. The noise of the stone cutting machines is part of the background here. We’re used to the heavy lifting and the hard work that goes into every piece. Sometimes the sun is really harsh out here on the road, so we spend a lot of time under the shade of the tin roof. People traveling along the Sirsi Road often pull over when they see the marble pieces sitting outside. We don’t have a fancy sales pitch. We just show people what we’ve been working on. It’s a bit of a rough-around-the-edges place, but that’s the nature of working with stone. We’ve been in Pratap Colony for a while now, and the locals know us as the marble guys near the bus stand. It’s honest work, and it keeps us tired but satisfied at the end of the day.
