Shree Neelkant Moorti Bhandar

We spend most of our time at No.1369, Khejron Ka Rasta, right near that 2nd crossing in Chandpole Bazar. It’s a busy spot, always people moving around and bikes zooming by. Being here at Shree Neelkant Moorti Bhandar means there is always stone dust in the air. We don't mind it much. My hands are usually covered in white powder by lunchtime. We just sit and work on the moortis, day in and day out. It's not fancy. The shop is small but it fits what we need. Sometimes the neighbors pop in to chat while we are midway through a piece. If you’re looking for us, just find the crossing and we’re right there. We have been doing this for quite a bit now. It is hard work on the back and the fingers get sore, but that’s just how it goes with this kind of thing. We take our time with each one because rushing doesn't help anyone. The marble can be tricky sometimes. You have to watch the grain. We keep a few finished pieces out front so people can see what we’ve been up to lately. It’s just us here, working away in the heat or the cold, whichever season it is. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the task at hand. It gets loud in Chandpole Bazar but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years.
