Preetam Moorti Bhandar

Our workshop, Preetam Moorti Bhandar, is located at 2688, Purviyon Ka Chowk. It’s at the 5th Cross on Khazane Walon Ka Rasta, which is right in the heart of the Chandpole Bazaar area. It’s a very busy part of town, and the streets are always full of life. We spend our days surrounded by stone and the sounds of the market. There’s a lot of history in these streets, and we feel like a small part of it. The shop is usually a bit messy with stone chips and tools lying around, but we know where everything is. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. The work is physical and can be tiring, but we just keep at it. People come to Chandpole Bazaar for all sorts of things, and they often end up passing by our chowk. We don't have a fancy entrance or a polished floor. It’s a working space where the real effort happens. The air is often thick with the smell of the market and the dust from our carving. We start early when the air is still a bit cool and stay until the evening rush starts to die down. It’s a simple life, focused on the work we do right here in the bazaar. We just keep carving and talking with the neighbors who pass through our little corner.
