Pandey Craft Corporation

You can find us at 1398 Panday Bhawan. It’s on Khejre Ka Rasta in the Chandpole Bazar area. This is the heart of the old city, so it’s very crowded and the lanes are narrow. Pandey Craft Corporation isn't a new company; we’ve been in this building for generations. The house itself, Panday Bhawan, is old and has a lot of history. We do our craft work in the inner courtyards where it’s a bit cooler. Outside, the bazar is always loud with people shouting and rickshaws honking. We make traditional items by hand, the same way they’ve been made for a hundred years. We don't use much modern technology. It’s mostly just simple tools and a lot of practice. The light in the old city isn't always great, so we work near the windows when we can. It’s a tight-knit place here. Everyone knows the Pandey family. We don’t really think of it as a corporation in the way big companies do. It’s just our family name and the work we do. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the neighbors while we work. It’s not a fast-paced life, but it’s ours. We’re proud to still be in Chandpole after all this time. It’s home. We don't need much else, just our tools and some space.
