You can find us at House Number 2169, located along Khejron Ka Rasta. We are right at the second crossing if you are coming from the Chandpole Bazaar side. This area is quite old and the lanes are very narrow, so it’s usually better to walk than to try and bring a big vehicle down here. We have been making and selling stone statues in this spot for a lot of years now. It is a family thing, passed down through the generations. The workshop is right in the front part of the house, so there is always a lot of noise from the tools hitting the stone. We have rows of finished figures sitting on the floor, and sometimes you have to be careful where you step. It gets very hot in the summer months, so we usually start our work very early before the sun gets too high. We take a long break in the afternoon when the heat is at its worst. Most of our customers are locals or people who have heard about our work through word of mouth. We don’t have a fancy display or bright lights. Just the stone and the work we put into it. The walls are a bit stained from the years of dust, but it’s a place where we feel comfortable. We just keep doing what we know how to do, one piece at a time. It’s a quiet life in the bazaar, mostly spent sanding and carving away until the sun sets.
