Molten Lava Gems Private Limited

Down in Bajrang Colony at number 6, you will find our small office. Jhotwara is a bit away from the main city center, which is nice because it’s a little quieter here, though the dust from the road still finds its way in. We named the place Molten Lava Gems Private Limited, mostly because it sounded interesting at the time. The office is really just a couple of rooms where we keep our supplies and do the sorting. Every morning, the first thing is to sweep the floor and get the water boiling for some tea. We sit at the big table and go through the gems one by one. It takes a lot of time and your eyes get tired after a few hours of looking through the lens. There are no fancy signs or neon lights outside, just a simple door. We’ve had the same furniture for years and it’s started to show some wear, but it serves its purpose. Most of our day is spent talking to the local suppliers or just checking the stock in the back room. We don’t really do much in terms of marketing or trying to impress anyone. We just like to get our work done and head home before the traffic gets too bad on the main road. It’s a plain, honest way to spend the day in Jaipur. Sometimes the internet is slow and we just wait it out until it works again.
