Marble Beauty Centre

Our shop is at the 4th crossing on Khazena Walon Ka Rasta. If you’re familiar with Chandpol Bazaar, you know how tight those lanes can be. We are at Shop No. A-121. It’s a place filled with white dust and the sound of polishing. Marble is heavy and difficult to move, so the shop always feels a bit permanent. We have pieces of all sizes tucked into every corner. Some are small enough to hold in your hand, and others take two people to lift. It’s been a family thing for a long time. My grandfather used to sit in this same spot. The bazaar is always noisy with scooters and people shouting, but inside the shop, it feels a little cooler because of the stone. We don't have fancy lights or displays. We just put the marble out where people can see the grain and the color. Sometimes we’re working in the back on a specific piece, so you might have to call out to get our attention. People come here looking for things for their homes or little gifts to take back to other cities. We spend a lot of time wrapping things in old newspapers and hay to make sure they don’t break. It’s a slow process, but marble isn't something you want to rush. The neighbors all know us, and we usually share a pot of tea in the afternoons when the sun is at its highest.
