We are located right by the Shri Ram Filing Station on N.H. Road No. 8. It gets pretty noisy with all the trucks and cars zooming past toward Delhi. Our shop, Kalakriti Marble Arts, has been here in Kukas for a good while now. Most days are spent covered in white dust from the marble. We have a lot of stone pieces sitting outside in the yard. Sometimes the sun is really hot and we just sit under the shade of the roof. People stop by when they are getting gas at the station next door. It’s a busy spot but we like it here. We just focus on the stone work and getting things done. There isn't much to say other than we work hard with our hands. The marble comes in big blocks and we turn it into something else. It takes time and sometimes a piece breaks, which is frustrating, but that is how it goes. We don’t have a fancy office or anything like that. Just the workshop and the tools. If you are driving down the Delhi Road, you will see us. We usually have the doors open so the air can move through. The kids from the neighborhood sometimes peak in to see what we are making. It is just a normal life for us here in Kukas, working with the stone every day until it gets dark.
