We are located at No. 2266 in Peelu Ka Chowk. It’s right near Abbasiyan School in the Topkhana Huzuri area. Our workspace isn't very big, but we have enough room for our tools and a couple of sturdy benches. We spend hours looking at small stones under the lamp. It’s quiet work, mostly. You need a steady hand and a lot of patience for this. My grandfather was the one who taught us how to see the flaws and the colors in the gems when we were just kids. We don’t have a big glass storefront like the shops in the main market. Most of our visitors are people who have known our family for a long time. They come by, have some tea, and we look at what they need. Sometimes we are just sorting through bags of raw stones for days on end. The light in the morning is the best for checking the clarity of a stone. We have some old wooden cabinets where we keep our supplies. It’s a bit dusty in the corners, but we keep the work areas very clean. Living and working in the same neighborhood means we see the same faces every day. It feels safe and familiar to us. We don't try to rush things. Good work takes as long as it takes. That’s just how we’ve always done it here in the chowk.
