You will find us, Compounding Gems Private Limited, at 11-A in the New Dhan Mandi area of Kota. Usually, the mandi is where all the grain and farm products go, so it is a very busy and dusty place. We are a bit different because we handle gems. Our office is simple and doesn't have much in the way of decoration. We have some sturdy tables and some good scales for weighing the stones. The noise from the trucks outside can be quite loud, but we are used to it by now. We spend our days processing and compounding gems. It is a slow process that requires a lot of attention. We aren't a big firm with lots of managers. It’s just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We don't have a storefront where you can browse around. Most of our business is done through regular contacts who know we are here in the mandi. Sometimes people are surprised to find a gem business in this part of town, but it works for us. We have enough space for what we need and the rent is fair. We open early in the morning before it gets too hot and try to get most of the heavy work done by noon. After that, we just handle the paperwork and get things ready for shipping. It is a practical way to run things and it suits us just fine.
