We are located over at Plot No - 6, near Sham Vatika. If you are on Ajmer Road, we are right opposite the Kartarpura Baag Verij Garden. It is a good spot because people can see the work we’re doing right from the street. We mostly work with clay and stone to make murtis. There is always a lot of mud and dust around the yard, and our shoes are never clean. We have some large statues that stay outside for months while we work on the details. It takes a lot of patience to get the features of a face right, and sometimes you have to start over if the stone chips the wrong way. We have a small shed where we keep the tools and the smaller pieces so they stay dry. On hot days, we put up a bit of a tarp to get some shade while we work. My sons are learning the trade now, though they still make plenty of mistakes. We don't have a fancy business plan or anything like that. We just take the orders as they come and try to finish them on time. It is a lot of hard work on the hands and the back, but seeing a finished statue ready for a temple makes it feel like it was worth the effort. People from the garden across the road often wander over to see what we are carving. We don't mind the company while we work.
