The Oasis

We've been running The Oasis here on National Highway 6 for quite some time now. If you're driving through Kona in Howrah, you'll probably spot us right beside the Lokenath Mandir. It's a busy stretch of road, so we get a lot of people stopping in who are just passing through. We have the hotel rooms, the restaurant, and the bar all in one spot. It’s not a complicated setup. Mostly, it’s just about making sure the rooms are clean and the food is ready when someone walks in hungry. Sometimes the highway gets really loud with all the trucks, but inside it’s a bit quieter. We spend a lot of our day just checking people in or making sure the kitchen has what it needs. Being near the Mandir means we see a lot of locals too, not just travelers. It’s a practical place. We don’t do anything too fancy. We just focus on the basics like having a place to sit down and eat a meal after a long drive. My staff and I are usually around from early morning until late at night. There is always something to fix or a table to clear. It’s just how it goes here. We’ve seen the area change a bit over the years, but the highway stays the same. If you are near Kona, this is where we are. We just keep the doors open and do the work.
