Garden View

You can find us at the Howrah Notun Rasta More, right opposite the Howrah Stadium. It’s a very loud part of town, especially when there is a match or some event happening at the stadium. The traffic at the intersection never really stops, so there’s always a background noise of engines and people shouting. We’ve been at this spot for some time. The building is older, so we spend a lot of time fixing small things like leaky taps or flickering bulbs. Inside, it’s a bit more peaceful than the street, though the big windows let in all the city light. We have a lot of people coming in who are just waiting for a bus or heading to the station. They sit there with their bags tucked under the tables. The staff knows most of the shopkeepers around here, so there is always some gossip going around. We don't use any fancy menus, just what’s ready for the day. Sometimes the tea runs out faster than we expect, and we have to scramble to make more. The chairs are wooden and heavy, and we haven't changed them in years. It feels like a real part of Howrah, with all the grit and the rush of the Notun Rasta area. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in from the crowd. No one stays too long, everyone is in a hurry.
