Green Valley Restaurant is located at 1/2/1, Balai Mistry Lane in Howrah. This isn't a big flashy place. It’s a small shop in a busy lane. Howrah is a crowded place, and our street is no exception. We’ve been here for a long time. The building is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s home to us. We start early to get everything ready for the lunch crowd. Most of our customers are workers from nearby or people living in the apartments around here. We don't have a big menu. We just do what we know how to do well. The kitchen is small, so we have to be organized. It gets very humid here, especially in the monsoon. We just keep the fans going and keep working. It’s a family-run thing, mostly. We don’t have a manager in a suit. I’m usually the one taking the money or cleaning the tables if someone is out sick. We just want to provide a decent meal for a fair price. We don't do fancy plating or use ingredients nobody can pronounce. It’s just basic, honest food. If you are walking down Balai Mistry Lane, you’ll see our sign. It’s nothing special to look at, but we’re there every day except for holidays. That’s how we’ve always done it and we don't plan to change much.
