Ashirwad Biryani

We are located on Mahendra Bhattarjee Road in Howrah. If you are looking for us, we are right across from the HDFC ATM. This is a very busy street with a lot of people walking by all day long. We have a small shop where we make biryani in the traditional way using big metal pots. We start the fire early in the day so the food is ready by the afternoon for the lunch crowd. It is mostly a takeaway place because we don't have much room for people to sit down and eat. We use a few stools if someone really wants to eat right there on the spot. There are just three of us working here. We spend most of our time in the back prep area or serving out the portions at the front counter. The smell of the rice and spices usually brings people in. Howrah is a crowded place and our road is no different from the rest. We have been here for many years and have seen the neighborhood change around us. The HDFC ATM is a newer addition to the street, but it helps people find us much easier. We don't have a printed menu; we just tell people what we have for the day. It is usually just the same biryani we have always made for our customers. We don't use any fancy packaging, just the regular foil and paper bags. It is a simple life and we are happy to serve our neighbors.
