Plaban Family Restaurant

We are set up in Arati Mention in Kolkata, right beside the Uco Bank. It’s a typical Kolkata location, a bit busy and tucked into the urban landscape. Being next to a bank means there’s a steady stream of people nearby during the day, which keeps things interesting for us. The building itself has that old city feel to it, and we’ve tried to make our space work as best as we can. Running a family restaurant involves a lot of moving parts. Someone is always in the kitchen, someone is cleaning, and someone is handling the customers. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or polished marketing plans. We just wake up, open the doors, and start cooking whatever is on the menu for the day. The heat in Kolkata can be quite something, especially in the middle of the afternoon when the sun hits the street. We just keep the fans going and try to stay cool while we work. It’s a practical life, really. We see families coming in for a meal and people just grabbing something on their way home from work. The Uco Bank next door is a good landmark for people who haven't visited us before. We just focus on keeping the food decent and the floors clean. It’s what we do every day, and we don’t think too much more about it than that. Most of our time is spent just making sure everyone gets fed.
