Paramount Bar & Restaurant

Setting up Paramount Bar & Restaurant right on National Highway No 6 in Salap was a practical choice. Out here in Howrah, the road never really sleeps. We get a lot of truck drivers and people traveling long distances who just need a place to pull over and take a break from the driving. The interior is pretty straightforward with sturdy tables and lighting that isn't too bright. It’s a place where you can grab a drink and some food without any fuss. The highway noise is constant, a mix of heavy engines and horns, but you get used to it after a few days of working here. We stay open late because that is when a lot of the travelers are looking for a spot to stop. It isn't a fancy lounge; it’s just a regular bar where people can relax. Sometimes we have to deal with a bit of a rowdy crowd when the sun goes down, but we know how to handle it. The kitchen stays busy making simple plates that fill people up. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights, just our name out front so people know what we are. The staff is local, mostly guys from the Salap area who have been with us for a bit. We just keep things moving, making sure the bottles are cold and the food is hot enough for whoever walks through the door. It’s just how things work on the highway.
