National Restaurants

Being on G T Road in Howrah means there is always noise and movement outside. Our place is right at number 400, not too far from the Nished Cinema Hall. We've seen a lot of movies come and go over there while we're busy in the kitchen. This building has some age to it, which you can tell if you look at the walls for too long. We don't mind it much. It’s home for us during the day. Most people who stop by are coming from the cinema or just passing through this part of Howrah. We don't use fancy menus with pictures or anything. Just the food we make every day. The fans overhead hum quite a bit, but they keep the air moving when it gets humid outside. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the view of the entrance, but folks find their way in. It’s a straightforward setup. We have the kitchen in the back and the seating out front. We aren't trying to be the most modern spot on the block. We just provide a place to sit and eat something hot. The staff is mostly local guys who have been with us for a bit. We know the neighborhood well and the neighborhood knows us. It's just what we do, day in and day out, right here on the main road. It gets tiring sometimes, but seeing the same people every day makes it worth the effort we put in.
