About Mahashaki Engg. Work – Engineering in Howrah
If you walk down Dharmotalla Road in Ghusury, you’ll find us at number 94. Mahashaki Engg. Work isn't some glass building; it's a practical space filled with metal and tools. The road outside is usually crowded with trucks and rickshaws, so it can get pretty loud and hectic during the afternoons. We’ve been operating from this same spot for a long time, and everyone on the street knows where we are. We do a lot of different engineering jobs, mostly fixing things or making parts that people need for their own shops. There’s always a bit of a mess around—shavings on the floor, oil on the rags, that kind of thing. We don’t have a front desk or a receptionist. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us working on a lathe or a drill. It’s hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going. The neighborhood is full of small shops like ours, so we often trade tools or help each other out when a machine breaks down. We focus on the task at hand and try to make sure everything fits right before it leaves the shop. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we know how to do. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out, but we don't mind the extra hours. It's just life here. We don't worry about being fancy or having a clean office all the time.
