B B Engineering

Out here in Howrah, on College Road, you’ll find B B Engineering. We are located at 67 2 8, and it’s a spot that’s usually a bit noisy because of all the machines we have running. It’s an engineering shop, so there is always the smell of metal and oil in the air. We spend our time fixing parts, welding things together, or trying to get a stubborn piece of equipment to work again. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty pretty much the minute you walk in the door in the morning. The floor is concrete and has a few stains from years of projects, but it works for what we do. We have a few benches where we lay out the blueprints and tools. Most of us have been doing this for years, so we don't need much instruction anymore. We just see what needs doing and get to it. Being on College Road means there’s always people passing by, and sometimes they pop their heads in to see what we’re making. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t have fancy office chairs or air conditioning in the main work area. We just have our tools and the projects in front of us. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we’re used to it. We just keep the doors open and keep working until the job is finished.
