Asha Engineering Works

This shop, Asha Engineering Works, is tucked away in M. S. P. C. Lane. We are located at No. 36/1. Kadamtala is a crowded area, so the lane can be a bit tight if you are trying to drive a big vehicle through here. We’ve been operating out of this specific space for a lot of years. It’s mostly metal work and fixing various things that people bring in. The machines make a fair bit of noise throughout the day, but the neighbors don’t seem to mind much anymore. We usually have grease on our hands by ten in the morning and it stays that way until we close. I remember when we first moved in, the floor was much cleaner than it is now. Now it has the character of a real working workshop with scratches and stains everywhere. People from around the lane often stop by just to ask for small repairs or to chat for a minute while we work. We keep the doors open mostly to let the air circulate because it gets very hot with the welding going on. There is a small window in the back that looks out onto another brick wall, but we don't spend much time looking out of it. Most of the day is spent hunched over the workbench. It’s hard work, but it is what we know how to do. My brother helps out sometimes when the workload gets too heavy for one person.
